My Gay Agenda

June 30, 2012 marked the 8th annual Gayfest March in Bucharest. While the numbers could be considered peanuts to other pride marches I've been to, this year's estimated 200 participants was a significant improvement from last year's march of about 150. It was a lovely rainbowed spectacle of folks with a variety of tastes and preferences, supported by >35 companies, 18 embassies, and one very famous Loredana Groza, a beloved Romanian pop singer. I had the honor to march alongside my family, friends, and the United States Embassy, with the banner: "Stop violence, LGBT rights are human rights." Ambassador Gitenstein and his wife Libby were also marching full force, looking fabulously unfazed by the swarming paparazzi.

Hanging out with ambassadors
and singers, just like any old day.
Best view of the parade.
We marched, danced and skipped down the street leading to Parliament, enjoying the camaraderie amongst other statement banners: "Free To Be Us," "I am! YOU?" and my favorite, "Homosexual agenda: to spend time with my family. To be treated equally. To buy milk." Couldn't have put it better myself.
What Jesus would say about being gay: "       ."
Nothing.
